While this past June we saw a new “Olympic” colorway of the Air Jordan VI release, another Air Jordan model was also made to commemorate the 2008 Beijing games. That model is the Air Jordan V and it definitely represents the good ‘ole US of A.
This player exclusive is very simple in colorway being white-based with touches of obsidian found on the Jumpmans, inner collar, insole, and gum parts of the sole. The traditional 3M tongue is here as well as the lacelocks. The all over laser-style print found on the upper is a unique touch, as is the USA Basketball logo on the insole and “8/8/08″ replacing “Air Jordan” on the back of the tongue with an american flag right below it.
Checkout the pictures below as that is probably the closest most will come to these. These Olympic edition Air Jordan 5 retro’s are PE’s and will not be released. But fear not all you Jordan V fans out there, you will see a few more colorways of this model in 2009.

“Hi & Lo” is an exhibition brought together by two of Japan’s biggest contributors to its contemporary pop art and streetwear fashion scenes. Hiroshi Fujiwara and Takashi Murakami will bring their brilliance to a number of popular brand names including Levi’s Fenom, Head Porter, and Kangol as seen earlier across the internet. “Hi & Lo” is set to open in just a few days and as stated already been linked to a number of brands and have now added Fragment Design and Visvim. The Visvim Kiefer sets the base for Murakami’s work “Flower” which covers the whole upper in vivid color featuring all sorts of flower combinations.

Asics is scheduled to release this exclusive pair of Gel Lyte III’s in December. They feature a vibrant colorway which consists of a predominantly brown leather upper along with bright orange and turquoise accents. The bright accents clash with the dark brown upper and create a really nice mix. One of the nicest features of the shoe is the speckled midsole, which is not seen too often. pics via The Good Will Out.

Nike first brought on the Amsterdam theme with the Air Max 1 model, and now we see the Nike Air Max Light receiving the Amsterdam treatment. They feature a predominantly black upper along with pink, blue, and yellow accents. They are now available for purchase at Icesole.

The Nike Air Max series is a favorite among sneaker fanatics, and the Nike Air Max 95 in particular has drawn in such a huge following. They’ve already seen plenty of colorways this year but don’t think they’re going to stop anytime soon. We have some detailed pictures of a beautiful pair that are slated to release on November 1, 2008. They feature a predominantly blue upper constructed from suede, along with mesh around the tongue area for ventilation purposes. They also feature red and green strips along the side panels, which stand out on the blue background. The use of white on the sole clashes with the blue in a way that draws attention to the shoe. They will be available at Footaction locations upon release.
