Last year Nike and COMME des GARÇONS collaborated on a Nike Dunk High that featured different overlay patterns, three leather straps in place of the laces, and steel toe caps. This time around isn’t much different as it appears they’ve added the steel toe caps again and a strap on the ankle collar, but have replaced the other two straps for a zipper all on a black mid/outsole combination once again. There is no word on these releasing yet.

Converse’s Century celebration continues as the brand recently linked up with J. Crew to manufacture a unique version of the Jack Purcell. The shoe’s vulcanized componentry remains similar to a typical general release, but the model’s upper is comprised of herringbone wool straight from the United Kingdom—a perfect option for the blustery winter months. The Converse x J. Crew Jack Purcel is available now at Crew’s official website.

Atmos and New Balance have a long standing relationship, and at the rate of their collaborations I can’t see an end in sight anytime soon. Following the success of the Black “Hologram” 576 released in September, Atmos and New Balance have teamed up again to make the silver version of the “Hologram” 576. The shoe’s features have many similarities to its predecessor, including elephant print on the heel, a speckled midsole, rainbow insole/inner lining and the “Hologram” effect given by the iridescent patent leather on the upper. These will be available at Atmos on Tuesday, October 21st.

Detailed pics have hit the Internet of the Jordan Melo 5 Olympic PE. We first saw these shoes being worn in the USA vs. Spain Gold Medal game during the Olympics in Beijing earlier this year. We can clearly see that the M5 takes cues from previous Jordan releases such as the heel of the XV’s and the intricate stitching on the side panels of the XX3’s. For more pics of these and the M4’s Carmelo wore through out the Olympics check out Kenlu.

Converse by John Varvatos 2009 Spring/Summer Collection

Taking a look into the Converse by John Varvatos 2009 spring/summer lineup, we certainly get a glimpse of 90’s Seattle grunge rock nostalgia. Having late Nirvana front man Kurt Cobain’s favorite sneaker be the Chuck Taylor doesn’t hurt either. Other than the usually very well put together sneaker line, this new mens and womenswear collection certainly packs a punch with masterfully executed striped and patterned textiles.
